HackTheAI 2025 Grand Finale – Closing Ceremony Highlights at GUB

We are delighted to share the remarkable success of HackTheAI – Inter-University National Hackathon 2025, powered by SmythOS, hosted by Green University of Bangladesh (GUB), and organized by the Department of Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) along with the Green University Computer Club (GUCC), in association with the GUCC Virtual Gaming Society.

Held from 22–25 September 2025, this four-day event brought together the brightest young innovators from across the nation. With 242 registered teams from over 60 universities, the competition showcased extraordinary talent in coding, innovation, and problem-solving. Following rigorous preliminary rounds, the top 50 teams advanced to the final stage, representing prestigious institutions such as Dhaka University, BUET, SUST, RUET, BRAC University, AIUB, DIU, Jahangirnagar University, Jagannath University, IUT, JUST, MIST, Rajshahi University, and GUB itself.

At the Grand Finale (25 September 2025), finalists competed in an intensive 8-hour coding challenge, presenting innovative solutions before a distinguished panel of judges from academia, industry, and SmythOS.

HackTheAI 2025 Champions:

• Champion: DU_Prometheus – University of Dhaka

• 1st Runner-up: Ontorponthik – Shahjalal University of Science & Technology

• 2nd Runner-up: Ginger – Rajshahi University of Engineering & Technology

The winners received cash prizes and an exclusive remote Software Engineer opportunity with SmythOS (valued at $700+), making this competition not only prestigious but also career-transformative.  

The closing ceremony was graced by Prof. Dr. Mohammad Sharif Uddin, Honorable Vice Chancellor of GUB, who emphasized the university’s commitment to nurturing research, innovation, and technology leadership. Prof. Dr. Khawza Iftekhar Uddin Ahmed, Pro-Vice Chancellor of GUB, also attended as Special Guest. Prof. Dr. Md. Ahsan Habib, Chairperson, Dept. of CSE, thanked participants, guests, judges, and partners for their invaluable contributions. A motivational address was also delivered by Mr. Arif Istiaq Sani, Senior AI Engineer, Brain Station 23.  

This event has once again highlighted GUB’s pioneering role in empowering youth with innovation, collaboration, and future-ready skills, positioning the university as a hub for excellence in the era of Artificial Intelligence.
