CSE Freshers’ Orientation Fall 2026: GUCC Welcomes New Students to the CSE Family

The Department of Computer Science & Engineering at Green University of Bangladesh successfully hosted the CSE Freshers’ Orientation for Fall 2026 on 27 September 2026. The event was organized by the Green University Computer Club (GUCC) in association with the GUCC Cyber Security Society, and it warmly welcomed new students into the CSE family through a well-structured program featuring introductions, speeches, and guidance sessions. The orientation commenced at 11:30 AM at the GUB Multipurpose Hall, bringing together freshers, faculty members, and student organizers in an atmosphere of enthusiasm and belonging.

The purpose of the orientation was to help new students transition smoothly into university life and to give them a clear understanding of what the Department of Computer Science & Engineering offers. From the moment the program began, it was evident that the event had been designed with care to ensure that every fresher felt welcomed, informed, and inspired. The sessions combined formal introductions with motivational guidance, allowing students to learn about academic expectations, departmental culture, and the many opportunities available to them beyond the classroom.

The event was honored by the presence of distinguished guests who shared their insights and encouragement with the new students. Md. Solaiman Mia, Assistant Professor in the Department of CSE at Green University of Bangladesh, attended as the Honourable Special Guest. He delivered an encouraging speech that aimed to inspire students in their academic life and extracurricular engagement. His words reminded freshers that success in Computer Science & Engineering requires curiosity, consistency, and a willingness to grow beyond textbooks. He encouraged them to take full advantage of university life by participating in co-curricular activities, developing new skills, and building connections that would support their personal and professional growth.

Syed Ahsanul Kabir, Associate Professor and Chairperson of the Department of CSE at Green University of Bangladesh, presided over the session as the Session Chair. He discussed the department’s vision and guided the freshers on aligning their academic goals with future industry demands. His session provided students with a broader understanding of how the department prepares them for the rapidly evolving technology landscape. By connecting academic learning with industry expectations, he helped freshers recognize the importance of setting clear goals, building strong technical foundations, and developing professional skills from the very beginning of their studies.
