Successful Completion of the seminar titled “CSE Research Quest for Fall 2025”


The event was honored by Prof. Dr. Md. Saiful Azad, Dean, Faculty of Science and Engineering, Green University of Bangladesh, as the Chief Guest. In his address, he emphasized the importance of research in higher education and highlighted the need for establishing a High-Performance Computing (HPC) Lab to support student research. He also assured continued university support in providing advanced facilities for future research endeavors.

The session was chaired by Prof. Dr. Md. Ahsan Habib, Chairperson, Department of CSE. In his opening remarks, he welcomed the participants and explained that the seminar aimed to encourage students to undertake innovative research works. He urged students to pursue thesis-based projects and stressed the role of research in academic and professional development.

The seminar featured presentations from six dedicated CSE Research Cells:

  1. Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning
    Fatema Akter, Lecturer (CSE) – Presented the vision, mission, key research areas, achievements, ongoing projects, and future plans.

  2. Natural Language Processing
    Md. Ataullha, Lecturer (CSE) – Explained thesis fundamentals, topic selection, journal vs. conference papers, importance of supervisor meetings, and efficient coding practices.

  3. Computer Vision
    Sharifur Rahman, Lecturer (CSE) – Discussed research fundamentals, real-world applications, achievements, and future research directions.

  4. Green Computing and Communication
    Mahbubur Rahman, Lecturer & PC (D) (CSE) – Highlighted sustainable research practices, focusing on low carbon emissions, reduced power consumption, and environmentally friendly computing.

  5. Cyber Security and Blockchain
    Jahidul Islam, Assistant Professor (CSE) – Shared research contributions, citations, and publications of team members.

  6. Bioinformatics
    Feroza Naznin, Lecturer (CSE) – Introduced vision, mission, research areas, and future directions of the cell.

The program concluded with an interactive session, where students asked questions and received guidance on thesis selection, publication opportunities, and career development through research.

Overall, the seminar served as an inspiring platform for students to engage in research under the six CSE Research Cells, motivating them to contribute meaningfully to the field of Computer Science and Engineering.
