The Student Mentorship Program of the Department of Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) at Green University of Bangladesh organized a significant preparatory meeting for first-semester students on February 27, 2026. Held at 10:00 AM, the session was specifically designed to provide essential academic guidance and motivational support to the new cohort ahead of the upcoming Spring 2026 Midterm Examinations. The event served as a comprehensive platform to clarify university procedures and instill confidence in students as they approach their first major university assessments.
The program commenced with an introductory address by Senior Mentor M.A. Rakib Sarkar, who welcomed the distinguished faculty and students. He encouraged the attendees to view the midterm examinations as an opportunity for growth rather than a source of anxiety. Highlighting the importance of self-assessment, he advised students to identify their academic challenges and work diligently toward improvement by following the guidance provided by their faculty members.
Technical and procedural instructions were provided by Mr. Mahbubur Rahman, Lecturer and Program Coordinator of the CSE Department. He offered a detailed demonstration of the student portal, instructing students on how to access examination routines and download their admit cards. Furthermore, he outlined the official examination rules and provided critical information regarding payment-related requirements, ensuring that students are well-prepared for the administrative aspects of the midterms.
The academic preparation strategy was further bolstered by Dr. Umme Ruman, Assistant Professor, who emphasized the necessity of consistent engagement. She urged students to maintain regular attendance in online classes, review lecture materials thoroughly, and utilize group study sessions and faculty counseling hours to resolve complex topics. Following this, Syed Ahsanul Kabir, Chairperson and Associate Professor of the CSE Department, provided a high-level overview of the transition from school to university-level examinations. He discussed the marking system, time management, and effective answer-writing techniques, while strictly advising students to uphold academic integrity and avoid unfair practices.
The session concluded with an interactive question-and-answer segment, where students sought clarification on various academic and administrative matters. Syed Ahsanul Kabir, Mr. Mahbubur Rahman, and Mr. Mohammod Khorshed Alam, Deputy Director of F&A, addressed queries regarding examinations, online class logistics, and financial procedures. This successful event underscored the Department of CSE’s commitment to student success, leaving the first-semester students better prepared and motivated for their academic journey at Green University of Bangladesh.
