Inauguration Ceremony of the Student Mentorship Program (Spring 2026)

The Department of Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) of Green University of Bangladesh successfully organized the Inauguration Ceremony of the Student Mentorship Program (Spring 2026) on 08 February 2026 at 11:30 AM in the university’s Multipurpose Hall. The program was arranged to formally welcome newly appointed mentors and mentees, acknowledge the valuable contributions of senior mentors and moderators, and present the structure and objectives of the mentorship framework. The ceremony began with recitations from the Holy Quran and the Gita, symbolizing unity, harmony, and inclusiveness within the academic community.

The formal session commenced with a detailed presentation by Mr. M. A. Rakib Sarkar, Mentor, who outlined the objectives, operational framework, and structured 12-week discussion plan of the mentorship program. The Special Guest, Md. Monirul Islam, Assistant Professor and Assistant Proctor, shared insightful guidance on effective study strategies and emphasized the transformative role of mentorship in shaping students’ academic and professional journeys. Md. Robiul Islam, Assistant Professor and Mentor Moderator, further elaborated on the purpose, benefits, eligibility criteria, CG requirements, and mentor selection process, ensuring that students clearly understood the systematic operation of the mentorship initiative.

Former Mentor Moderator Mr. Mahbubur Rahman, Lecturer and Program Coordinator, highlighted the distinctiveness of the mentorship program at Green University of Bangladesh and stressed the importance of consistent mentee participation for academic success. Former mentor Faysal Hossain Tomal also addressed the audience, motivating the mentees and presenting constructive proposals to strengthen the program, including publishing mentor information on the university website and providing formal recognition to mentors. The Chief Guest, Prof. Dr. Md. Saiful Azad, Dean, Faculty of Science and Engineering, appreciated the department’s initiative and encouraged the formal submission of the proposed recommendations for future consideration.

A special segment of the ceremony was dedicated to honoring former mentors and moderators for their significant contributions to student development. In his concluding remarks, the Session Chair, Mr. Syed Ahsanul Kabir, Chairperson and Associate Professor, expressed satisfaction with the successful organization of the event and encouraged both mentors and mentees to remain committed and responsible throughout the semester. The inauguration ceremony successfully introduced the Student Mentorship Program for Spring 2026 and generated enthusiasm and motivation among all participants.
