The Green University Computer Club (GUCC) is proud to announce the successful completion of the Freshers’ Orientation Program for Summer 2025. The event was held on Sunday, 22 June 2025, from 12:00 PM to 1:30 PM at the GUB Multipurpose Hall. Organized for the newly admitted students of the Department of Computer Science & Engineering (CSE), the orientation served as a vibrant platform to introduce students to the university’s academic culture, community, and resources.

The program commenced with a recitation from the Holy Quran followed by a recitation from the Holy Gita, symbolizing Green University’s commitment to inclusivity and cultural harmony. A video documentary was then presented, offering an insightful overview of the CSE department—its academic strengths, research highlights, and student achievements. This helped set the tone for the event by fostering a sense of pride and belonging among the freshers.

An engaging presentation introduced the faculty members, allowing students to familiarize themselves with their instructors and academic mentors. The event also featured an introduction to the Mentorship Program, designed to support students in both academic and personal growth through guided support from faculty and peers.

The orientation was further enriched by the presence of distinguished guests. Prof. Dr. Md. Saiful Azad, Dean of the Faculty of Science & Engineering and Director of IQAC at GUB, served as the Chief Guest. His motivational speech encouraged students to embrace new opportunities, stay committed to learning, and make the most of their university life. Prof. Dr. Md. Ahsan Habib (Tareq), Director of the Center for Continuing Education (CCE), shared practical advice for academic and personal development, emphasizing balance and determination.

A special highlight of the program was the presence of Dr. Amjal Hinas, an esteemed academic from Sri Lanka, who offered an international perspective on higher education. His remarks on global standards and purpose-driven learning inspired students to broaden their ambitions and prepare for a competitive world. Dr. Muhammad Aminur Rahaman, Chairperson and Associate Professor of the CSE department, guided students through the department’s vision and highlighted the importance of aligning with future industry trends.

Md. Riad Hassan, Lecturer and Program Coordinator, conducted an informative session on important academic procedures and documents, followed by a lively Q&A segment that addressed students’ initial questions and concerns. The event’s smooth flow and engaging tone were maintained by the enthusiastic anchors, Tasmia Noor Tama and Md Farhad, whose presence added energy and structure throughout the program.

The program concluded with thoughtful closing remarks from Mr. Syed Ahsanul Kabir, Associate Professor and Associate Chairperson of the CSE department. He expressed heartfelt thanks to all guests, organizers, and students, and encouraged the newcomers to embark on their academic journey with optimism and curiosity. A cheerful group photo marked the end of the program, symbolizing the start of an exciting new chapter for Batch 250.

GUCC extends its sincere gratitude to all faculty members, participants, and especially the hardworking organizing team for their dedication and effort in making the orientation a memorable success. We look forward to continuing this spirit of engagement and inspiration in future events.
